Hello my sweets, because I've had a little splurge recently on bits and bobs for my holiday, it's just been an excuse to buy some beauty products that have had people talking- some negative feedback, some positive; curious little me had to try them for myself!
Lush- Mint Julips lip scrub
This just had to be done. It's a holy grail for many beauty bloggers, and the sweet scent and taste of Lush's lip sugar scrub has made it a real treat for chapped lips.
I just love it. It leaves lips feeling silky smooth, perfect for applying a hydrating lip balm straight afterwards or before applying lipstick for a flawless finish. I'm sure there are other lip scrubs out there, but I don't think they're as scrummy! Choose from Mint Julips, Bubblegum and popcorn flavour.. G'WAAAARRNNN.
The Body Shop- Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion and Tea Tree Oil
These two bundles of goodness have done wonders for my skin! I've always had quite oily, spotty skin so these have been a god send. The lotion feels cool and tingly on the skin and really gets to work instantly. It tackles those big pesky blemishes that have their own shadow, reducing and preventing future breakouts. I find it's also left my skin feeling really soft and less oily, so it's defiantly a permanent product in my daily skincare routine.
However, when my skin was REALLY bad, I used to lather the lotion on EVERYWHERE, so the larger tube still didn't last very long at all, maybe a few weeks. My skin is soooo much better now, so I topped up my stock with a smaller tube to apply directly to any blemishes that may pop up.
This is the same for the oil, it doesn't last long but it does the job! Both products work perfectly together, but the oil is a little more intense. So, I only apply it once a week so it doesn't run out too quickly.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the tea tree range from The Body Shop- a definite holy grail for spot prone skin.
DuWop- Lip Venom (lip plumper)
Now, this feisty Lip Venom has been quite controversial, and I can see why. We all want those perfect celeb, plump and pouty lips and beauty brands have promised us the same effect, with no surgery… really? ENTER DUWOP. I know DuWop has a range of lip glosses and plumpers, but this one sounds a little more effective (i.e. the quite scary sounding name). It is a little expensive, but it's on sale at Debenhams at the moment, so the perfect time to try it out.
It's a spicy gloss that when applied leaves your lips feeling a sensation of heat and tingles, claiming to temporarily swell the lips for a plumper looking pout. There was definitely a tingle and sting and I have to say on first impressions, my lips looked plumper… but I'm not sure if that's because of the high shine gloss. I actually quite like the stinging sensation, but I'm not quite convinced that it makes lips appear plumper. However, some say it can plump the lips overtime so I'll give you an update in the near future, but on first impressions… not bad DuWop!
3D Crest White Whitestrips Luxe Professional Effects (10 pouches)
Now.. time for the big one. I've heard such great things about Crest Whitestrips, in fact I didn't quite believe it, they claim to be so good that I just had to try them out.
On first impressions, I couldn't be happier and more excited. My teeth have never been yellow… just not the Hollywood white I've desired.
You're meant to use the strips once a day, for half an hour, for 10 days to see the amazing results. However, I have a holiday in less than a week so I'm going to do two strips a day for five days. I got the tip from Velvetgh0st, she did a video on the strips for her youtube channel (you may want to check it out for some more info or have any unanswered questions).
I did two today and I couldn't be happier with the results!! I'm so excited to see the end results and for anyone considering buying them.. do it! It's a hollywood smile for a fraction of the price.
I will update you before my holiday and reveal to you the final product!!!
