From - what seemed like - over-plucked pencil lines sitting above my eyes, to foundation covered, ginger beasts sprouting everywhere; it's been tough. BUT, I think I've hit the jackpot. Whilst they're not yet the perfect Delevingne brow, I'm one step closer to socially acceptable brows that not only match my hair colour, but require little everyday maintenance.
The answer? Tinting. I've always gone back to dying my hair Kardashian dark but my eyebrows never seem to be able to keep up. Tinting allows me to achieve a natural finish, tricking those into believing I'm basically a long lost Kardashian sister. I can't believe I haven't taken the time to go through with it! (or it's because I'm a wuss).. who can blame me when I Google it and there are tales of going BLIND if you get the dye NEAR your eye?! I have risked losing my sight to do this for you girls.
I used the Eylure Pro-Brow Dye Kit in shade BLACK which was already quite scary considering my brows were so light before, but I could only find the dye kit in two shades: black or brown? I took the plunge anyway and was pleasantly surprised by how quick and easy it was!
The kit comes with an Activating Solution, Cream Colour and a mascara style applicator wand. Preparing the dye was really simple - similar to preparing hair dye - although it's important to apply a layer of Vaseline or petroleum jelly on the skin surrounding the brow to avoid dying the skin! (those stains are a nightmare to remove!!!).
After only 2 MINUTES of development time, brows are complete! I must admit I was a little apprehensive to see the results - I didn't lose my sight in the end thanks very much mean Googlers - but the colour was intense and really made a statement which I LOVED.
Over a week later, the colour is still intense and I haven't used an brow pencil since!
It saves time, looks fabulous, and allows me to effortlessly pull off the the full brow look everyday. It not only lasts for up to 6 weeks, but can be applied up to 12 TIMES! For under a tenner, there is no longer any excuse to have invisible brows… well for girls with dark dyed hair that is.
I'm not going to say I'm an expert brow dyer or I have the knowledge on all the do-it-yourself kits out there but for a first timer, dipping her toes into this brow discriminating world, it's pretty nifty!
